Web Site Redesign

Maintaining an organizational web site is a challenge - ours especially so with members scattered across the country and around the world. Member input into the site design is extremely important, and we really appreciate your input. We are also always looking for updates, ideas for new content (especially if you provide the content), and additional images to add to our collection.

If you have graphics design experience we would really appreciate some volunteer assistance to make the site look even better.

Our approach to "improving" the site is to:

• Develop a visual "theme" (complete)
• Develop a standard, grouped menu structure (Anne Golembeski suggested the WSA organization) (complete)
• Convert original MS Word® & Front Page® pages to Adobe DreamWeaver® CS3 (mostly complete)
• Update pages to comply with the newest web standards (W3C: CSS & xhtml) (mostly complete)
• Optimize images (if needed)
• Add new content
• Update data weekly

Above are some ideas for site navigation using expanding menus - both horizontal and verticle. The PeaceKeeper RS menus need to be clicked on to activate, while the B-61 menus activate on mouse-over.

We could also embed a Flash "Shockwave" image viewer to display some of our best images - and link to the Photos page.

A Griffin has been proposed as our "mascot". Here are some sample logos:
